Green Impact
[Green Investment] Empowering Innovative Domestic Clean Energy Startups

Strategy and Philosophy

ChipMOS actively responds to national sustainable development policies and the National Development Council's Six Core Strategic Industries policy, focusing on forward-looking fields such as green energy and renewable energy. Through direct equity investments, we inject capital and industrial resources to empower high-potential domestic startups, accelerating the green industry ecosystem transition and deepening corporate sustainability impact.

As of December 31, 2025, ChipMOS had invested in one domestic innovative startup, with an investment balance of NT$30,939 thousand. Moving forward, we will continue evaluating targets with carbon reduction benefits and technical synergies to foster shared prosperity for industry and the environment.

Industrial Development Administration's Large-Driving-Small Manufacturing Low-Carbon & Smart Transformation Subsidy Program

★Total Project Results: 55 Energy-Saving Initiatives | Total Carbon Reduction: 7,198.4 tCO2e | Equivalent to the Annual Carbon Absorption of 18.6 Daan Forest Parks

In 2023, ChipMOS proactively participated in the Industrial Development Administration’s low-carbon and smart manufacturing upgrade subsidy project. We joined forces with 12 supply chain partners to champion low-carbon transformation, forming a project task force and a green supply chain guidance team to jointly evaluate and execute decarbonization initiatives. By sharing our energy-saving achievements and measures, we encouraged suppliers to replicate successful models and tailor appropriate energy-saving strategies.

From 2023 to 2024, these 12 suppliers implemented 25 energy-saving initiatives through lean management, energy-optimization projects, and enhanced carbon accounting capabilities. Together, these efforts achieve annual electricity savings of 578.6 MWh and reduce carbon emissions by 286.4 tCO2e per year. This accelerates the adoption of low-carbon technologies, equipment, and management practices, strengthening organizational resilience and boosting overall industry competitiveness.

Continuously Responding to Tainan City Government Initiatives as a Member of the Tainan Net-Zero Guidance Team

Since 2018, ChipMOS has participated in the Tainan City Government’s "Power Saving Alliance," now evolved into the "Net-Zero Guidance Team." Partnering with experts across industry, government, and academia—including TSMC, UMC, Taipower, Kun Shan University, NCKU Energy Research Center, CTBC University of Technology (formerly Far East University), and the STSP Bureau—we share our energy-saving expertise with schools and hotels to offer diagnostic evaluations and reduction strategies. Through an enterprise-led approach, ChipMOS guides supply chain partners in reducing greenhouse gas emissions to advance toward net-zero goals.
