2022 Global Earth Day x ChipMOS Loves Earth serial events

ChipMOS continuously monitors the issues related to the global climate changes. With the full support of the chairman and the efforts of all employees, the Company has voluntarily participated the survey of climate change and water resources under the 2022 Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) since 2021, while promoting the identification of risks and opportunities pursuant to Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure (TCFD), to propose the responding strategies and target management based on the outcomes.
Next, ChipMOS officially signed to join the TCFD Supporters in March 2022, to support the international initiatives, which is not only an enhancement of the information disclosure transparency for the risks and opportunities related to the climate changes, but also a demonstration of the determination of ChipMOS to actively respond to the climate issues and management.
Supporting the “422 World Earth Day” and the energy-saving policies of the Company, ChipMOS held the serial events of loving the earth during March and April, including: all fabs supported the “Earth Hour - lights off for an hour for the Earth,” “ChipMOS Loves Earth - Public Welfare Treasury Box of Children’s Day” in the Hsinchu fab., and “Love the Earth with Beach Cleaning and Plastic Reduction” in Tainan fab., to lead all employees to participate in the environmental protection activities.
“Earth Hour - lights off for an hour for the Earth,” is a global energy-saving activity initiated by the World Wild Fund for Nature (WWF); ChipMOS has supported the event for two consecutive years, to turn off the unnecessary power for an hour on March 26, 2022. We use the internal promotion and Facebook to call the joint participation of all employees and all stakeholders, such as: turn off the Computer when off the work, turn of lights, air-conditioners, and conference equipment when leaving, and develop the good habit of energy-saving and fully support such with practical actions.
“ChipMOS Loves Earth - Public Welfare Treasury Box of Children’s Day” we work with Jin Ping Elementary School and Xiu Luan Elementary School in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County before Children’s Day and Earth Day, to understand the demands of the children in the remote villages for learning supplies. 146 gifts for the Children’s Day were fostered, and the over-packaging was avoided in the manner of eco-friendly and plastic reduction, and giving the most special gifts of the Children’s Day for children.
On April 16, in the event of “Love the Earth with Beach Cleaning and Plastic Reduction” jointly organized with the Tainan Environmental Protection Bureau and numerous corporates and groups. ChipMOS called a total of 100 employees and their families to participate the event, to roll up their sleeves to pick up the waste diligently in the early morning on a weekend. A total of 196 kg of waste was cleaned from the coast, as a joint safeguard for the cleanness of the ocean.
